Are you interested in taking your business to the next level? Join MCC’s LGBT Business Committee, a team of talented entrepreneurs, business and not for profit sector leaders whose mission is to maximize the economic growth of New York City’s LGBT-owned businesses by creating partnership and business development opportunities.

The LGBT Business Committee is a new committee for the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce. The committee was set up to identify and assist small LGBT owned businesses with opportunities to meet other business owners in Manhattan so that they can network with each other. The plans for fall ’07 and spring ’08 are to host 10 events (5 seminars and 5 networking events) during the year. Each event will have at least one outreach partner and a corporate sponsor. The larger we can grow these programs, the larger the network we can create for the LGBT Community.

Events Committee

The Events Committee creates and develops monthly events that are used to draw in new LGBT members to the Chamber of Commerce. With average attendance of 100 + at each of our three events, this new committee has already proven to be effective. Committee Chair is Allan Fried.

Sponsorship Committee

The Sponsorship Committee develops a tiered structure of benefits for sponsors of the various events and activities, thus supporting the work of the Events Committee. Identifies, cultivates and solicits companies for event sponsorship; manages the ongoing relationship. This is a great opportunity to meet people at fortune 500 and 1000 companies as you provide a service to the small LGBT businesses of New York!  Committee Chair is Stuart Sugarbread.

Outreach/Membership Committee

The Outreach/Membership Committee creates partnerships with various corporations and businesses making appropriate matches based on the upcoming events, thus supporting the work of the Events and Marketing Committees; assures the careful cultivation and enrollment of prospective members. This committee will give you access to the emerging leaders in the talented LGBT community. There is an opportunity to emerge as a leader while working with this team. Committee Chair is David Bomke.

Marketing/Advertising Committee

The Marketing/Advertising Committee creates printed and online materials in order to “sell” the upcoming event. This committee will give you an opportunity to work with other creative marketers and network with creative promoters. Committee Chair is Alina Wilczynski.
